Go to the first, previous, next, last section, table of contents.
Then do a `lsattr' on the file. It will probably display either an
`X' flag or a `*' at the place you would have expected
c
(depending on your version of lsattr
). One way to
re-enable automatic decompression is to do `chattr -X' on the file.
(The `X' flag will be removed from e2compr at some future point.)
If this is not the case then it is probably a bug in e2compr, and should be reported to the e2compr list (e2compr-misc@lists.sourceforge.net). (I (pjm) have already found and corrected two or three such bugs, so there may be more.)
