My time is very limited at the moment, so I'm going to focus on the small tasks rather than the more important but more involved tasks like tracking down that Whoops problem.
If you want to look at the Whoops problem yourself, the thing to do is to start at the message itself (in buffer.c) and work backwards. I've tried going from the other direction (i.e. looking at the parts of e2compr most likely to have a problem) but without success.
Other than that, take a look at the TODO page in the manual.
